somotoo® is a modern software tool that greatly improves productivity in the company through collecting important business data. Developed in Germany, somotoo® technology naturally complies with all domestic and international legal provisions.

• Functional analysis of all local hard discs: somotoo® monitors the quality and data security of all local hard discs in the company (standard version does not support e.g. Raid systems or ‘Solid Disc’ devices). somotoo® continuously reads the S.M.A.R.T. values of the hard discs and evaluates them based on a proprietary algorithm. In the event an impending hard disc crash is detected, the user, as well as the defined internal or external service partner in charge of your network, receive an alert. This feature is already supported by our somotoo.one entry-level solution.
• Somotoo Communicator: All somotoo® products have a built-in communication tool the executive management, IT department or an external IT service partner can use to issue messages to all active PCs and laptops across the entire company. The messages are delivered in real-time, and since no additional e-mail solutions are required to display the text, the messages are guaranteed to be read. The somotoo® communicator supports graphics, so even entire websites or ‘links’ can be sent. Any devices not active during a message broadcast store the previous ten messages and display them to the user as soon as any activity is detected at the PC (button pressed, movement of the mouse). The messages can be sent over the Internet in encrypted format, so there is no need to integrate the communicator into the local system.
  This feature is already supported by our somotoo.one entry-level solution.
• Reduced power consumption in the network: somotoo® can switch any connected PC and laptop into a power saving or power off state based on time schedules or usage scenarios (‘sleep, suspend to disc’). somotoo® takes precedence over the local Windows settings. If somotoo® detects any activity for a PC in the late evening or at night, the corresponding PC is excluded from this central measure (once). You can modify the settings globally, on the department/branch level or for an individual PC. After installation, no local configuration is required – this also holds true for all other somotoo® efficiency functions. The somotoo® administrator can comfortably assign all rights and adjustments from a central location.
• Security management for all data interfaces: somotoo® is able to block the use of disc drives, CD-ROM/DVD drives and USB mass storage devices (external hard discs, cameras, USB sticks etc.) simply and efficiently. In addition, any activity of external USB storage devices is logged.
  Protect sensitive data, including information on central servers, from unauthorized access: When combined with ‘key word recognition,’ an alert can be triggered as soon as an unauthorized copy transaction is attempted. This somotoo® feature represents an effective method of countering data theft. Moreover, employees are prevented from unintentionally spreading private, harmful software within the company.
• Documentation of Internet activities: Presents the Internet activities within the company in a report that is easy to read and comprehend. As of Version 2.1, a blacklist of undesired websites can be maintained at a central location. When accessing a website included in this list, the user is informed that visiting the respective website is considered ‘inappropriate’ by the company.
• Documentation of the e-mail system: Provides an effective means to prevent users from exploiting the existing e-mail infrastructure.
• Application analysis: Logs the respective level of software use within the company simply and in a clearly structured format.
• Preventative protection: Unwanted software/time killers (games, chat programs etc.) can be blocked on an individual basis from a central location.
• Keyword recognition: Define any number of keywords; you will be alerted through an instant e-mail message whenever a keyword is detected. All service areas of somotoo® are protected with this feature, e.g. including detection of a keyword when calling up a website, upon receipt of an e-mail, or when executing a program. As an option, the scope of this alert can even extend to actions such as, e.g. a user copying a Word file (.doc) to a USB stick. The keyword sensor allows for practically any combination of files, words or partial words.
• Works committee mode: The built-in works committee mode of somotoo® allows you to customize the software to meet the needs of your employee representation. All reports can be delivered in an anonymous format, and accurate information can be delivered in a manner which guarantees that your employees’ right of co-determination is not infringed upon. Reports containing personal data can only be viewed in the presence of an employee representative.
• Management report: somotoo® automatically creates a confidential report specifically tailored to the needs of the executive management. This report acts as a ‘business cockpit’ and represents an important basis for making management decisions and also presents insightful analyses of corporate efficiency.
• Somotoo Inhouse and Hosting Server: The somotoo® Efficiency Suite is offered as a stand-alone external hosting service (operated by VIPdataTEC Hosting, data centers or at an IT partner of your choice) or as a autonomous ‘Inhouse’ solution. The somotoo® server technology offers multi-client capability as standard and can be further expanded by adding an export interface that establishes a link to your existing business intelligence solution.
